Woodworks
Getting there whittle by whittle.
Still, it’s knot too bad.
Woodworking was the first craft I did. I drove a nail thru two pieces of wood and proudly proclaimed “pligpla!” (airplane).
After that I never really stopped. Finding new and exciting tools and techniques to branch into every now and then. Today most of my woodworking are utility items for historical settings.
One of my first chip carving projects. A small book style box with sliding lock mechanism. Maple, bronze and brass.
Small utility knife made by a friend, hand forged blade with scorched juniper handle. I only did the naming and carving.
Small spoon started by my grandfather. Finished by me the year after his passing. Decoration is inspired by some of his other works. Birch
My market coffee mug. Unknown wood
An inside joke with some friends. Runes read "good spoon". Birch
Replica of a viking sea chest. This was pure agony to build. Since all walls are tilted by 5 degrees it gets really gnarly in the corner joint. Pine
Bronze mirror with oak cover I made for my wife for her viking outfit.
