“For by hammer and hand all arts do stand”
I like working with metal, it’s nice to make something that will likely last several lifetimes.
Folding knife with brass scales I made for a friend. It's good to get to practice scroll work designs and hand engraving.
My sisters bridal crown. Art neuvau inspired. Silver. Made pretty early on. A bit lacking in technique but I'm quite proud of what I could achieved with very limited tools at the time.
A friend gave me a broken watch for practice. I fixed it up (broken spring). Then it was a little too sporty for my taste so I made a new dial. A lightly hammered minimalist bronze, radial polish, silver inlay with proud 12h mark. Then I de-lumed, polished and filled the hands with black pigment, for contrast and to match the case and band.
A friend asked me if I could design a historic looking locket for safe keeping of a replica coin. Very fun project, lots of problem solving and interesting challenges. Built all in bronze with a hinge at the bottom edge. I'm quite proud of the locking mechanism at the top.
My sigil ring. I made it from a stainless nut and engraved my makers mark on it so that it can actually be used for its purpose. I also threw together the wax scoop for making neater seals.
Mini cymbals "zills" used for belly-dance performances, made for a friend. Modeled in alias, 3d printed then cast in brass. If you are interested, a visualisation of the original model can be found in. Portfolio>personal>smaller projects
Silver ring, bezel set cabuchon garnet. The ring was a gift for a friend. The stone is from near her home town. I think this was the first time I cut a gem.
Necklace made for my mother. Birch leaf made in silver.
Tapered ear gauge made of silver. Made to look like a sea shell.
Medieval folding scales of brass and copper. weights are made of tin, historical measurement and accurate down to ca 0.02g
Vintage zippo I tried my hand at some etching and engraving on.
Replica viking grooming kit made for a friend. Toothpick, tweezers and ear-scoop
Couple of life counters for playing magic. I was too unused to the abacus for easy use so I made the brass one. Hand engraved with a very satisfying clickety-click action. Both are made to the same height and width as a mtg card.
Simple "bead spreaders" made for my wife's viking outfit. Made out of bronze, design is inspired by finds.
Using an old Swedish technique called "luffarslöjd" I made a couple of jars for christmas presents. Mom and dad have kept their garlic in theirs since they got it 10ish years ago.
